Birth Date: 1601 |
Death Date: 1655? |
Comments: Lawrence Peelle sailed from England on the Margaret & John in late December 1620 and arrived in Virginia in late April or early May 1621. Lawrence's trip to Virginia occurred while the Mayflower wintered in the harbor of Plymouth, Massachusetts, it having arrived there on 26 December 1620. The Mayflower departed Plymouth on its return voyage on 5 April 1621, just before the Margaret & John arrived in Virginia. I am offering $1000 reward for information connecting Lawrence into his English family. |

Comments: Seek info on PARENTS/ANCESTORS OF JESSE PEEL. ALSO seek info on MARY (last name unknown) of NC whom he married in NC sometime around 1820's. First of their children born in NC:
Elizabeth - b.~1829 (m. l.n. Hudson)
Amanda L.- b.~1831 (m. l.n. George; m. l.n. Honeycutt)
Later, JESSE & MARY migrated to Shelby County, Ala., & bore:
Mary - b.~1835 d.before 1869
Martha - b.~1838 d.before 1880
Lacy (Lacie/Lucy?) - b.~1841
Willis - b.~1842
John - b.~1844 d.before 1869
Thomas - b.~1848 d.before 1869
Priscilla - b.~1851
Later, most of the descendants used "PEAL" spelling of last name. ESPECIALLY SEEK DEATH DATE/LOCATION FOR LACY, MY GR-GRANDMOTHER. BUT ANY INFO of ANY KIND on ANY of these PEEL/PEAL's will be appreciated (e.g., spouse names, middle inits, military svc unit, specific birth/death dates, burial sites, descendants, etc)! Also willing to share what I have if one of these is your ancestor! Thank you & best regards to all. |

One possibility is Jesse Peel, b. 1804 in Surry Co. Both Christina and Jesse had sons named Riley, suggesting a possible sibling/close family relationship. He then enlisted in the confederacy (Fla 6th Inf, Co. G) The family lore states that Joseph was killed by carpetbaggers on his way home from a Yankee prison camp in NY. Why does he not appear on any known records until he is in his 40's? Who were his 2 older sons and daughter that may have stayed behind in Martin Co when the family migrated? Birth Date: 16 May 1888 |

Comments: Trying to locate more information on Francis Boyd Peele. He married Lila Gray Branch on
Dec 18, 1912. Lila was the sister of my great grandmother. Lila and Boyd had one daughter, Frances Gray Peele who was born in 1916, four weeks before Lila's death.
Francis Boyd Peele appears to be the brother of William Walter Peele who was a bishop in the Methodist Church. Francis Boyd Peele also appears to have been a minister. I have part of the obituary of Lila but half the newpaper obit is missing and I don't know the name of the paper. I have no idea where they lived when Lila died. According to my grandmother, Frances Gray lived as a young child with Lila's sister, Callie Branch Hilburn (Mrs. Ted Hilburn) in Fayetteville, NC until after Frances Gray's father remarried (and had a son??).
Any help would be appreciated in locating the parents of Francis Boyd and William Walter Peele. I am not 100% sure that William Walter is the correct brother. Lila's obit listed Francis Boyd as being the brother of Rev. W W Peele, and William Walter is the only one I have located so far.

Comments: Who is David Peel born 1822 while shipboard coming to America? James D. Jones is looking for any information regarding the family of his Great-grandfather David Peel who was born 1822 while shipboard on the way to America. Who are his parents? Decendents include Charles, Shelby, Ellen, Sue, Mary, Naid and another child that died at age 9. Sue later moved to Long Beach CA., another girl married an actor named Fudge -- who specialized in jumping from ballons with a parachute. David died 1888 aand Mary died 1918.
